  • President & Co-Founder

    With nearly 50 years as a dedicated member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), Mr. John Rensel stands as a seasoned designer and stagehand in the world of theater. Currently serving as the lighting designer for The Human Race Theater Company and The Muse Machine, and having previously lent his talents to the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and Pops series, Mr. Rensel brings a wealth of experience to every production.

    For over 30 years, Mr. Rensel has held the position of Technical Director for the iconic Fraze Pavilion, overseeing technical advance production coordination, lighting designs, automation programming, and performance operation services. His expertise has contributed to the success of numerous artists and productions gracing the venue.

    Beyond his work at Fraze Pavilion, Mr. Rensel has a rich background in dance lighting, providing designs and technical production services for The Dayton Ballet and Dayton Contemporary Dance Co. His national credits include a lighting design package for a touring production of the Elton John/Tim Rice collaboration, "AIDA."

    Having designed hundreds of shows, Mr. Rensel's contributions to the field have earned him a well-deserved place in the Dayton Theatre Hall of Fame.

  • As the Shop Manager at LFI, Mark oversees the day-to-day rental operations and orchestrates the extensive event and decor lighting services offered by the company.

    Mark holds a BA in Stage Management from Ohio University, graduating in the Class of '88. With over 30 years of stage and theatrical experience, Mark's expertise is invaluable. His career includes a significant tenure as a rigger with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE). While he has retired from climbing, Mark's comprehensive knowledge of proper rigging technique ensures seamless planning for any show.

  • Jenean is the steadfast Office Manager at LFI, spearheading the administrative operations while also serving as the vital point of contact for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable matters within the company.

    Jenean's attention to detail and dedication make her an integral part of the team, overseeing various administrative tasks and financial responsibilities with precision and professionalism.

  • Lead Technician

    With a rich background in the technical facets of theatre and audiovisual systems, Louie is a seasoned professional bringing a wealth of expertise to the LFI team. As a skilled projectionist and a proud journeyman in IATSE Local 66, Louie's journey in the industry spans decades of hands-on experience. His solid technical foundation enables him to navigate and contribute to a diverse range of systems with ease. Louie's proficiency extends to the meticulous repair and maintenance of the extensive equipment catalog at Light Fantastic Inc. His commitment to excellence and in-depth technical knowledge makes Louie an invaluable asset to our team.

  • Lead Technician

    Bringing over 15 years of extensive lighting experience, Josh stands as a dedicated Lead Technician at LFI. His repertoire boasts the design and operation of numerous live events, showcasing his seasoned expertise in the field.

    With a Double BA Degree in Media Production and Art, Josh is equipped to offer innovative and bespoke solutions for your event. His creative background and rich experience ensure a unique touch for every project.
